Bored Ape Yacht Club took NFT world by storm – going from 0.08 Ethereum mint price to now a $1 billion market cap in a few months.
There are a couple reasons – striking aesthetics, community perks and surprisingly utility.
However, I think the most important was the story.
BAYC originated from something close to the heart of many NFT collectors: the dream of one day succeeding in their NFT investments.
The story is based on a compelling premise: after “aping in” to NFT projects over the years, all the apes are wandering and bored, without anything left to conquer.
This story, in addition to gaining access to an exclusive club, spoke to many in the NFT world.
